A good example of a hypocrite(s) would be the news and media outlets who claim to be fair and balanced.
I've seen so much false reporting and biased news reports about many things. But the top two, for me, are the war in Iraq
and Michael Jackson. I would like to focus on the Michael Jackson trial in the court of public opinion. I've watched this
time and time again. They'll talk about how he's been charged with child molestation, then they'll show clips from his videos
and concerts where he's grabbing his crotch. This is usually followed by people coming on talking about how weird they think
he is. Frankly, I'm surprised they don't compile song lyrics like "your butt is mine," "it's gonna feel real good," etc. and
play them while talking about the case. This is all I ever see. Tell me, what do you think that does to a potential jury?
How is that setting up for a fair trial? Okay, you've given me that side of the story. It's time to hear Michael's side. Actually,
let's hear his '93 accuser's side. Seldom is the recorded conversation between Chandler and Schwartz played on the news. What
was that he said? Why would he have to talk about "scheming and plotting to ruin Jackson's life?" Then when Schwartz asked
how that helps the 13-year old boy, what did his father say? "That's irrelivant to me." Why aren't the "fair and balanced"
news programs showing this, proof of extortion and innocence of MJ, rather than reporting rumors and speculation? Not only
is that hypocrisy, it causes ignorance and hurt. What a terrible thing, putting someone's life on the line because of your
greed.
Tom Robinson had the right to a fair trial, yet he didn't get one b/c he's different. Familiar?
